About This Quote

Sometimes I sit down to dinner with people and I realize there is a massive military machine surrounding us, trying to kill the people I'm having dinner with. A few years ago, I sat down to dinner with a friend of mine. A couple minutes into our meal, we stopped eating and looked around the room. A group of men in traditional dress were walking towards us.

They were moving slowly, as if they didn't really want to be here. As they got closer, we could see that they were carrying weapons and over a dozen of them were on their way to kill us. My friend and I started running out of the restaurant as fast as we could.

We ran for a few streets before stopping to catch our breath. When we sat down again, we realized there were a dozen men sitting behind us on a wall. When we turned around, they were gone.

We had been saved from being killed by one of those groups of men who walk around killing people all day long because they have been ordered to do so by their bosses even though the bosses know that the killings are wrong and unnecessary.
